Condemn Israel for Gaza slaughter
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Once again, the world is witnessing the cruelty of Israel.
The Palestinians of Gaza are, in fact, prisoners of Israel. They suffer from lack of adequate food, limited jobs, a struggling economy, and continuous attacks by Israel's army. The recent attack of Gaza resulted in the death of more than 60 protesters, including men women and children. The people of Gaza were merely protesting the decision of Israel to claim Jerusalem the capital of Israel.
Israel has continuously dismissed the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181 (11). The world is now realising that Israel apparently had no intention of accepting a partition plan for Palestine.
The current government of the United States apparently has no current interest in a Palestinian state.
Palestinians in the West Bank meet the same treatment as those in Gaza. They are surrounded by huge walls built by Israel. Jews are allowed to seize land in the West Bank. The people of the West Bank are corralled in areas similar to the once Bantustans of South Africa.
There will never be peace in Palestine as long as Israel abuses and slaughters Arabs. Wherever injustice thrives, blood will be shed indefinitely. The Middle East is on its way to becoming a region of bloodshed.
